DMC M22520/2-02 (K1S), Positioner to locate crimps on size 20 pin and socket contacts
DMC M22520/2-02 (K1S) is a positioner used to locate crimps on size 20 pin and socket contacts installed in MIL-C-5015, MIL-C-26482, MIL-C-26500, and MIL-C-83723 circular connectors. This positioner is used with the M22520/2-01, AFM8 DMC tool frame and adapts the tool frame to a particular application. The data plate on each positioner designates which contacts the positioner accommodates for its wire size and indicates selector position.
Daniels Manufacturing Corporation® (DMC®) has been the trusted provider of tooling and technology for mission-critical electrical systems for over 75 years.
DMC offers a wide range of tools for manufacturing and maintaining high-reliability electrical wiring systems, including solutions for crimping, stripping, insertion/removal, verification, and connector assembly.
CRIMP TOOLS - Each crimp tool is precisely calibrated to apply just the right amount of force in the right location for a specific application. This precision is essential in maintaining electrical continuity and mechanical strength. DMC also manufactures verification equipment that allows operators to ensure tool accuracy and adhere to strict industry standards.
INSERT ION / REMOVAL TOOLS - DMC offers a wide range of insertion and removal tools (I/R) to aid in the installation and extraction of contacts in connectors. A variety of styles are available to accommodate both front and rear release connectors. I/R tools are available with straight, joggled, angled, and offset tips in probe, spring-loaded probe, tweezer, and plier styles. These tools come in plastic, plastic/metal and complete metal varieties.
“DAK” in a part number denotes insertion, “DRK” denotes removal, and “DHK” denotes insertion and removal. Many of the I/R tools are color coded to help operators quickly identify contact size and/or series. Metal I/R tools are known for their durability and are less likely to cause damage to connector sealing grommets.
When used properly, these tools can last thousands of cycles. Though popular, plastic I/R tools are less reliable and more likely to cause contact retention failures due to a lack of strength needed to fully lock a contact into position.
